She sees him, and her heart skips a beat
Not because she has feelings for him or still loves him
But because she fears him and knows the type of man he is
Their entire relationship was built on lies, disrespect, and manipulation
He controlled everything, what she would do and who she would see
His family learned to prioritize his needs first, sacrificing their well-being
This validated him, as he finally had control over something in his life
It didn’t matter how much hurt he caused in the process; this gave his life meaning
She sees him, and her heart skips a beat
Not because she has feelings for him or still loves him
But because she fears him and knows the type of man he is
Their entire relationship was built on lies, disrespect, and manipulation
No one asks her why; they assume she is happy they are no longer together
He was emotionally abusive, and the pain he caused was unthinkable throughout the years
Hiding tears, fights, manipulation, and control by lying only gave him more pleasure
The walls he built up around her were used to hide her from the world
He controlled her social life; she rarely left her house or spent much time with her friends
His social life was on a need-to-know basis, and included lies, late nights out, and cheating
Never should she question him about anything, becoming angry, his ego, self-image, he would defend
She sees him, and her heart skips a beat
Not because she has feelings for him or still loves him
But because she fears him and knows the type of man he is
Their entire relationship was built on lies, disrespect, and manipulation
She fears him and knows that somehow, he will find a way to try to quiet her, make her have no voice
He never apologized for a single thing he did wrong in their relationship, she was always to blame
Gaslighting her was easier for him, as this way he could make and break the rules, and she had no choice
Now she has a choice: shut him down, walk away and not listen to his lies and manipulation
She still fears him, she knows the twisted games he plays to win, he seeks control and validation
Sitting back, watching, and not interacting is the best method, yet this may make him angry
It is tough, make the wrong move, he gets angry, make the right move, he plays off your reaction
She sees him, and her heart skips a beat
Not because she has feelings for him or still loves him
But because she fears him and knows the type of man he is
Their entire relationship was built on lies, disrespect, and manipulation
