DIVORCE IS NEAR

BY: LIZ HARDIE

Divorce is near, and mediation is only a few days away

Hopefully, it all goes as planned; this is all she can pray

Her trust in him has vanished, no longer believing any word that comes out of his mouth

Most of their marriage was a lie, his love and his actions, had no truth

So now she enters the final moments of closing this chapter

Excited is an understatement, his narcissistic ways, him being the puppet master

Playing the happy, good wife was exhausting in every way

Yet she did well, to a point, the tears she’d hidden almost every day

She loved her children, staying for them, feeling they deserved a family

However it became pointless; they saw through it and knew she was losing her sanity

In fact, looking back, she does now question if he is capable of loving another

Actions speak louder than words, and time together just seemed to be a bother

Taking the plunge and filing for divorce was the best decision she could have made

She needed to find who she was, find happiness, and needed a clean break

Her whole life, she had always thought love would make her happy

Yes, love is amazing, but she can’t love someone who only loves himself, who controls her mentally

She thought she knew who she was, she knows she doesn’t deserve this, and that’s not going to change

Finally, she found strength, knew what she needed and wanted, his narcissism was done being entertained

Games are not meant to be played with people, especially those you “love”

Unmotivated, selfish, and manipulative, creating his unhappiness, other woman’s attention he was in search of

Any sadness or regrets he feels, he must realize that he brought these on himself

She says to him, “Please stop blaming others for issues you created, blame yourself, no one else”

Divorce is near, and mediation is only a few days away

Hopefully, it all goes as planned; this is all she can pray

Not surprised, he forgot the first mediation, so we are a day away from the divorce mediation, again

She has waited for the divorce to come to a close, he has held it off, what was he trying to gain

Never did she want it to come to this, it should have been simple

She was trying to be nice, wanting it to be quick and easy, just to make it official

Moving on has taken her some time; she has needed time to find herself, to regroup

It is a process; never again will she let her happiness be taken from her, to undergo any more abuse

He can throw his Hail Mary, but she has no feelings towards him or for him anymore

Divorce is near and he finally realizes this, but he made his choice of what is most important to him

She knows what’s important in her life, she knows what she must do, and this starts from within

Positive thoughts every day, she just wants the mediation to go smoothly

Anxiety is running high, knowing she’ll remain kind, she’ll just wait and see

Why does he look for sympathy? Does he have no dignity?

She can honestly admit there is not one part of their relationship or their marriage that she misses

So, here’s to the hopeful closing of this chapter, she has been waiting patiently to do

Despite the pain and distress he has caused us, she still wishes nothing but the very best for him, too

Maybe one day he will open his eyes and his heart to others more than just loving himself

Realize his priorities, stop playing games, stop playing the victim, stop lying, if anything else

Divorce is near, and mediation is only a few days away

Hopefully, it all goes as planned; this is all she can pray
