Is True Love Real? What is True Love?
Life is interesting; we get wiser with age
And stronger with difficult times, they say
Lying down, staring at the ceiling
I think to myself, what is my point to be on Earth today
Rise from the ashes
Dust yourself off
Cry and scream if you need to
Laugh, have fun, get in your car, and take off
Lost in love, cheated on, lied to
Second best to alcohol, not once but twice
Is true love real?
Right now, my heart to love is as cold as ice
Return what I am given, yet I know my heart is warm
Friends, family, my daughters see this every day
Take advantage of me and all I do for you
Ice daggers will be thrown; stay away
Turn the other cheek over and over
Give people chances and prove their worth
My cheeks are red and bruised from turning
No more chances, kindness is learned at birth
Is true love real?
Yes.
I see it every day in many beautiful ways
Those who always stand beside me
My parents, my siblings, my family, my friends
Especially my daughters, showing true love every minute, every day
