Miscellaneous Self-Care Strength

PLEASE EVERYONE

BY: LIZ HARDIE

You please everyone, you want all around you to be happy and content

Is this even possible in this world, in your life

No matter who the people may be, friends, family, even strangers

Someone will always find fault in you, their words will cut like a knife

They feel they know you, how you should live and act

But in reality, they don’t know many things about you

It is all a perception in their mind of what you should be

How you should react to people, what you should say or do

You fight internally with yourself, will your happiness ever come first

Can you choose your way of living, finally having some self-respect

At some point, any self-respect is better than none

You take pride in seeing smiles, not tears, your fears you continue to hide and protect

Some may push you, try to make you hurt and be unkind

They know the exact words to say and actions to take

It seldom works but you feel terrible for even speaking with them

Many don’t want to see the positives or the good, mentally they constantly ache

They would rather pick you apart, every chance they get

Putting you down makes their perception of you real

Never wrong they feel you are the weak one, yet they hide behind others and fake happiness

You battle internal demons, but you must leave them concealed

These people continue to judge, some even hold grudges

Other’s happiness should not consume you or cause you pain

It is their internal demons they are battling, and with their demons, you too are battling

To please everyone is nearly impossible, many look at you with total disdain

Selfishness may have taken over their life, but it will never take over yours

Their perception, judgment, and unkind words have no place here

You will never be able to please everyone and make them happy

Stay true to yourself, and have self-dignity, smiles will come, fears will disappear
