FIND YOURSELF

BY: LIZ HARDIE

Is it possible to find yourself, figure out who you are

When the thought of finding it out seems so, so far

Beaten up emotionally and physically throughout life

Going through divorce, despite being an amazing wife

Daughters who are amazing, they are everything, life revolves around them

Days you may wonder, are you anyone’s precious gem

Daughters adore you, love you to no end

Blessed with some of amazing family and friends

Who are you and will you ever be a happy girl?

You make your own happiness, so step up your game

Step out of your comfort zone, try to be less tame

Do not let men control you, although sadly you have let them

You need to take control and not give a shit

Respect yourself first, before anyone else will respect you

Deep down you must find the person you were meant to be

Make time for yourself, do the things you enjoy very much

Get therapy if needed, no more fears of any such

Keep your positive attitude everyday, no matter what

People may not understand you or your choices, they can kiss your butt

Stop catering to people who don’t give a damn about your needs

Focus on the good, but point out the negatives you see

Don’t let yourself get caught up in the drama others choose to create

Surround yourself with those that can truly relate

Finding your own happiness might seem hard

Although at this point, you hold all the cards

You have to know when to hold and to fold

Realizing who warms your heart and who makes it cold

Deep down you have always had the answers

You were too afraid to stand up and fight for those answers

You now know you have the strength to find yourself, to be you

Take a long look at the beautiful, kind girls you have raised, you and only you

You may think to be happy, you always needed a man by your side

Or were you just warped int to thinking this, you would just run and hide

You can find yourself again, in due time

When that time comes, your world be right and you’ll be just fine

Your life will yours to live, no one will have control of you honestly

Anyone who doubts you, can kiss your ass, they will see

Family, best friends and your girls are behind you, cheering you on

The actual you will shine through, while controlled, scared You will be long gone.
