CONFUSION

BY: LIZ HARDIE

Confusion, each day you look at yourself

That is all you see

Why are you here, are you pretty enough

Are you fun to be around, why the dull personality

Constant confusion in your head

Are the new meds working, do you even need them

Everyone keeps saying you do, you guess you agree

Sadness consumes you, around others you force a smile or a grin

Confusion, thinner, chubbier, thinner, chubbier, is this how you look?

Changing your hair constantly, blonde, brunette, red, black, back to blonde

Long hair, short hair, layered hair, curly hair, straight hair

You want to hide, but your changing hair or weight always draws attention, people respond

You are confused by reactions to you

They ask why are you so quiet yet called bitchy, or shy yet called so vain

Why are you so friendly yet called guarded, are you fake or real?

So many perceptions, no one gets to know you, no one notices your pain

You are simply a confused soul

How can anyone understand you when you don’t understand you

Confusion in your head

You may always be misunderstood

Walking through life in a daze

Continue to smile through the confusion and sadness, pray you see good
